Subject, Lightting and Composition.

• Scout around for the subject;
• Find an angle where the light is best for the subject;
• Compose and shoot;

Of course, it also depends on the subject itself. If someone is going jump off a building, you are not going to wait for good lighting and trying to compose the shot!
